Spain e-invoicing and Verifactu software compliance

Spain has two tracks: Verifactu sets rules your billing software itself must meet, and the Crea y Crece law brings mandatory B2B e-invoicing with invoice status reporting. We get your billing software Verifactu-ready and prepared for structured B2B exchange (FacturaE, UBL, CII).

Verifactu effects from
2027

Verifactu billing-software rules take effect in 2027. The Crea y Crece B2B e-invoicing mandate phases in after that (reported as large businesses first, then the rest), with exact dates set by a pending ministerial order.

  • Verifactu-compliant billing software
  • Tamper-evident records & hashing
  • FacturaE / UBL / CII formats
  • Invoice status messaging

What is Verifactu & Crea y Crece B2B e-invoicing in Spain?

Spain is approaching e-invoicing from two directions. Verifactu is a set of requirements for the billing software itself: records must be tamper-evident, chained with hashes, and, in the Verifactu mode, reportable to the tax agency (AEAT). Its effects are deferred to 2027, and businesses already in the SII real-time VAT system are largely outside its scope.

The second track is the Crea y Crece law (Law 18/2022), which makes structured B2B e-invoicing mandatory between companies and professionals established in Spain, with the implementing Royal Decree approved in 2026. Accepted formats include FacturaE, UBL, and CII, and businesses must also report the status of each invoice (accepted, paid, and so on). Reported timing is large businesses first and all others later, but the exact start dates depend on a ministerial order still to be published.

We prepare your software for both: Verifactu-compliant record-keeping now, and structured B2B exchange with status messaging when Crea y Crece lands.

Dates and thresholds change, and scope depends on your exact situation. Treat this page as a starting point, confirm the detail with the Agencia Tributaria (AEAT) and Ministry of Economy, and tell us what you run today, we will tell you plainly what an integration would involve.

How we help

Built into the software you already run.

We make your billing software Verifactu-ready now, so your records meet the requirements, and we prepare you for Crea y Crece B2B exchange with FacturaE, UBL, or CII and invoice status messaging. If your system cannot be adapted, we build one that can.

The two tracks have different timelines, so the sensible move is to fix the software-compliance piece first and layer B2B exchange on when the dates firm up.
