School, coaching & institute software
Admissions, attendance, fees, and academics for schools, coaching institutes, and education groups: one platform instead of five disconnected registers.
Education at Nowgray
Education software covers the administrative spine of a school, coaching institute or training group: enquiries and admissions, student records, attendance, timetabling, fee collection, examinations and parent communication. Teaching quality is not something software provides. What it can do is stop the office losing a day a week to reconciliation and chasing.
Fees are almost always where the pain concentrates. Collection happens across cash, cheque, UPI and gateway, often in instalments, frequently with sibling discounts, scholarships and late fees layered on top. When that reconciliation is manual, the receivables figure is never quite current, and the follow-up falls on whoever has time.
Coaching institutes and schools also differ more than they look. A school runs annual admission cycles, sections and a fixed timetable. A coaching institute runs rolling batches, students enrolled in several courses at once, and pricing that changes per batch. Software built for one fits the other badly, which is why generic school ERPs get abandoned by coaching centres.
Parent communication deserves its own mention. In India that means WhatsApp, not email. Attendance alerts, fee reminders and result notifications land where parents actually read them, and the message log belongs against the student record.
What usually brings people here
Fee reconciliation eating the week
Payments arrive across four channels in instalments with discounts applied case by case, and matching them to students is manual.
Admissions enquiries with no pipeline
Enquiries come by phone, walk-in and web, get noted in a register, and follow-up depends on who remembers.
Attendance recorded but not usable
Marked on paper or in a spreadsheet, so nobody can act on a pattern until a term has passed.
Batch and section complexity
Rolling batches, multi-course enrolment and per-batch pricing break systems designed around fixed annual sections.

Common questions.
- Both, but not with the same configuration. Schools need sections, annual cycles and fixed timetables. Coaching institutes need rolling batches, multi-course enrolment and per-batch pricing. We set up whichever model matches, because forcing one into the other is the usual reason these systems get abandoned.
- Yes, through Razorpay, PayU, Cashfree or a gateway you already use. Payments reconcile against the student's fee schedule automatically and receipts are issued without office involvement, which is where most of the time saving comes from.
- Yes. Each branch manages its own students, batches and collections, with consolidated reporting for the group. Fee structures and permissions can be set centrally or per branch.
- WhatsApp and SMS for attendance alerts, fee reminders, exam schedules and results, sent from templates and logged against the student record. Email is supported but in practice parents read WhatsApp.
